Thank you for your appreciation of HHI! Does your inspiration make you want to take action? Well, there are many ways to support the spread of HHI's message and we've provided a list of how to help. These are very simple things that you can do from the comfort of your own home.

GoodSearch & GoodShop

Use the "GoodSearch" search engine to find what you're looking for on the Internet and HHI will receive a small donation every time!

Use "GoodShop" to shop online at some of the most well known sites including Amazon, The Apple Store, Expedia, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, eBay and, as with GoodSearch, HHI will receive a donation.

Online Activism

You can help us with our online presence (even if you don't have a blog) and HHI is asking you to be a part of our online activist team. A part of online social media is to use viewer recommendations (through Digg, Reddit, Stumble Upon etc.) to draw attention to articles, blogs and videos about interesting topics that would otherwise be missed by mainstream media. Sometimes, online activism is as easy as making a comment on some one's blog. It's very effective, easy to be a part of and takes a minuscule amount of time. HHI's outreach coordinator can easily train you on the process. Please email us to join the team and learn more.

Donate

No worries if you are not an activist. You can promote HHI's work with the power of the purse. Donate online now and know your contribution helps; HHI's impact of improved care costs less than $10 per child and anything that you can do will make an impact in the lives of disadvantaged children.

Subscribe

Knowledge is half the solution. Please subscribe to our online newsletter to keep yourself updated. Then, forward it to your friends who you think would be moved by our work. In a time when social media is taking over, forwarding emails to your lists is one of the most effective ways to spread the word.

Letters to the Editor

"Letters to the Editor" has always been an effective tool to reach many people at once. If you see something in your local newspaper or even the New York Times that is related to helping orphans around the world, go ahead and submit a letter to the editor to share why HHI is the answer to our global orphan crisis. Download HHI talking points here and email us if your piece is accepted by an editor.

Volunteering Internationally

At this time, HHI does not have volunteer positions at our overseas training sites. HHI is specifically designed to educate and empower existing caregivers who already serve babies and children under the age of five years old. Due to the very young age of the children HHI serves, our strategy for impact and sustainability is it to build the local, long-term capacity of the communities to nurture, snuggle, love and integrate these children into a healthy and happy existence.

Many orphanages accept volunteers. When identifying an organization to volunteer with, be sure to learn about their history of volunteer placement and talk to previous volunteers. Learn what daily responsibilities you would have and what expectations the organization has. Also it is important when volunteering in a foreign country that you receive some type of cultural education to enhance your experience and knowledge so you can be an informed, effective and responsible volunteer.

Volunteering in HHI’s US Office

Volunteer opportunities vary by the needs of HHI and by the skills of volunteers. Most volunteers have particular skills that are applied for specific projects, such as graphic design, writing, or event coordination. To propose a skill you could offer to further the work of HHI, please email us.
